YeeY Inc. (CEO: Yuka Shimada, Co-founder & Director: Yuji Yazawa) has established Delivering Happiness Japan in a comprehensive business partnership with Delivering Happiness, a Las Vegas-based organizational development and consulting company.

Zappos, a leading online shoe retailer led by CEO Tony Hsieh, is known for building a unique company culture and is often called the "happiest company in the world." To spread this model of organizational culture globally, Hsieh co-founded Delivering Happiness, an organization dedicated to creating happier companies worldwide.

Employee Happiness and Company Performance

According to a 2012 survey by Gallup, over 85% of employees globally lack engagement in the workplace, resulting in an estimated 5 trillion yen in losses for the US alone. In response, scientific studies in positive psychology on Employee Happiness (EH) have shown the benefits below.
As Japan faces a shrinking workforce due to an aging population, workstyle reforms have been actively discussed. However, without effective "how-to" strategies, employees often experience burnout, reducing happiness and productivity. With research linking EH to performance, we believe workstyle reforms can improve company results by raising employee happiness.

Systematizing Zappos' Happiness Culture and Expanding It to Other Companies

CEO Tony Hsieh, author of the best-selling book Delivering Happiness: A Path to Profits, Passion, and Purpose, led Zappos to rapid growth. Together with his colleague Jenn Lim, who led Zappos’ happiness-driven culture, they co-founded Delivering Happiness, an organizational consulting and talent development company to spread this business model. Their methodology has been adopted by organizations worldwide, including STARBUCKS, CHASE, MARRIOTT, TOM’S, and McDonald's.

In August 2018, YeeY hosted Japan's first Delivering Happiness Bootcamp, a specialized workshop on building a happiness-driven culture. Nearly 100 leaders and consultants from large and venture companies attended.
Through this partnership, Delivering Happiness Japan will launch services in Japan, starting with the following:

1. Training specialists to improve company performance through a happiness-driven culture.
2. Organizational consulting led by CEO Yuka Shimada.

- **Yuka Shimada (CEO, YeeY Inc.)**
CHRO of Unilever Japan Holdings. Certified Master Practitioner of NLP and Mindfulness NLP® Trainer. At Unilever, Shimada implemented unique HR policies, including "WAA (Work from Anywhere and Anytime)." The company received the Forbes WOMEN AWARD for three consecutive years. She believes, "When employees’ and leaders’ mindsets change, companies change, and when companies change, society changes." She also serves as a PERMA25JAPAN Movement Fellow.

- **Yuji Yazawa (Co-founder & Director, YeeY Inc.)**
CEO of Giveness International and Japan representative of the Colombo Plan ICCE. Founded the Oneness Foundation and raised Japan's addiction recovery standards to international levels. He invited Martin Seligman, founder of positive psychology and former APA president, to Japan, hosting a conference with over 1,000 participants. Yazawa has also worked with other leading experts to promote happiness and well-being science.

- **Jenn Lim (CEO, Delivering Happiness)**
As a consultant for Zappos, Lim compiled the Zappos Culture Book, which highlights the synergy between happiness, productivity, and profitability. Zappos has been ranked one of the "Best Companies to Work For" by Forbes. Together with Tony Hsieh, she co-founded Delivering Happiness to bring Zappos' core values to other companies worldwide, serving as CEO and Chief Happiness Officer (CHO).

- **Tony Hsieh (CEO of Zappos / Co-founder of Delivering Happiness)**
CEO of Zappos and co-founder of LinkExchange, which was acquired by Microsoft. Hsieh led Zappos with a happiness-centric management style, driving its rapid growth. In 2009, Zappos was acquired by Amazon for $1.2 billion. Hsieh remained as CEO to maintain Zappos’ independent management under Amazon and co-founded Delivering Happiness with Jenn Lim to share the happiness culture model globally.
