■ "P2P Magazine" Delivers Essential Information to Inmates
Currently, various support facilities and agencies, such as rehabilitation facilities, regional life support centers, and the P2P life career school (http://p2p.oneness-g.com/), exist in Japan to support former inmates. However, access to this information is extremely limited for inmates, leaving many without the necessary knowledge for reintegration.

Additionally, former inmates have few means to learn about others' successful reintegration, which leads to a lack of hope. To address these issues, P2P has launched "P2P Magazine," a free magazine for inmates. Distribution to prisons, reentry support facilities, and other institutions across Japan began in December 2020, with magazines currently placed and distributed at 10 prisons and 7 juvenile detention centers (as of January 2021).

In P2P Magazine, we introduce training programs aimed at successful reintegration, available support and its procedures, interviews with notable individuals involved in reintegration support, and testimonials from former inmates who have found purpose. The goal is to communicate to inmates that there are places to develop the skills needed for reintegration and that it's never too late to start anew, fostering hope for a fresh start.

■ Message from P2P Representative Yazawa

POWER TO THE PRISONERS!
Representative Yuji Yazawa

"Although there are resources available to support the reintegration and new life of former inmates and juvenile offenders, during incarceration, there is limited access to information on this support. Consequently, many face parole or release without receiving the support they need, leaving underlying issues like poverty, lack of skills, or personal difficulties unaddressed, which can lead to recidivism.
P2P Magazine offers various resources to assist in reintegration, including interviews with those who have successfully reentered society and found purpose. By connecting inmates with proper information and support infrastructure, we aim to create a more livable society."
